The House That Love Built

While many of us were enjoying the hustle and bustle of the holidays last year, New Way student Matt Austerman and his dad were thinking more of what they could give than what they might get. Together they worked every weekend on a custom log cabin playhouse for our 2007 Navigate the Journey auction, finishing just weeks before the big event.

Matt helped with the roof, the wood flooring and much, much more—using tools like a nail gun and circular saw. “It was fun to hang out with my dad,” recalls Matt. “He builds houses so he’s really good at it.”

Matt says he feels proud of donating this special house to the school. New Way is proud of you Matt—Congratulations on creating such a wonderful gift!
